Metal Sculptor Benjamin Rainchild has been pursuing the art of metal work for the past twelve years. With steel, bronze and stainless steel Rainchild has been creating unique works that are as varied in style and form as the beaches of Camano Island are to the rugged North Cascades. His work can follow classic baroque curves, simple and elegant contemporary lines or a unique hand forged style. Seven years ago he and his wife Christy created Rainchild Metal Works to enjoy the freedom to create pieces in these styles and more.
The variety of styles and materials Rainchild has allows him and his studio to create work as varied as graceful bronze herons, steel and glass furniture that is as elegant as it is functional, his breathtaking installations include gates, railings and tree grates. Rainchild often incorporates glass, stone and wood into his fine custom works.
Rainchild has made it a priority to have the studio run smoothly and efficiently by having the most advanced technology and tools and to continually improve the working environment. Some of the tools that make the studio run so efficiently are a wide variety of pneumatic finishing tools, an air hammer, a cold cut saw, and a 15 foot gantry he made himself for moving large projects.
If you would like to visit the studio a tour can be arranged by appointment. The studio is located 1 hour north of Seattle Washington on 2.5 park-like acres on beautiful Camano Island.
